Vital functions

There are three vital functions:
  1. Nutrition (eat): we need energy.  Energy comes from food. Plants make their own food using water, soil, sunlight and air. Animals can be carnivores, omnivores or herbivores.
  2. Interaction: acting and reacting to the world. For example, if it is hot we drink cold water.
  3. Reproduction: living things can make other living things. Plants use their seeds. Animals can be oviparous (eggs) or viviparous.
